Words and Woodland Photography

18 Apr

This afternoon I went to the woods for a walk with the dog, as it was a bright sunny day I had intended to take my camera with me but I forgot it! Instead I collected leaves, bark and sticks to photograph at home. I even found a rusted bottle top, some pieces of sandstone and a few Celandines. Once home I went out to my studio with a stack of newspapers, magazines and leaflets to use as backgrounds for the photographs. Half an hour later I had roughly 100 images! Here are some of my favourites.

Hello Samantha: Natural and found objects are often wonderful sources of inspiration…I often use ‘found’ objects like odd metal pieces and bottle caps, etc., in my own jewellery with textile…..now all my friends have their noses to the ground picking up ‘stuff’ for the crazy jewellery lady!!!!!
    Love your work.

Thank you Ann for your lovely comment. Your work sounds very interesting, this post could appeal to you https://samanthacleminson.com/2011/10/31/alessandra-rigillo/. I think the best thing about using found objects and recycled fabrics etc is that everything is unique. I like creating and wearing one off pieces. Have you got a website/blog? It would be great to see some images of your work.
